Len,
a fellow song writing collaborator and Incense Rising’s co-founder had been
going through many challenging situations involving the loved ones in his
life. As he was leading worship at our
church one Sunday morning, I sensed that Holy Spirit had a word for Len. It was almost like something was slipped in
the pocket of my sweater. I put my hand
in my pocket and acknowledged in my heart, “Father, I receive this for Len.” I found a slip of paper and wrote down the
words to this song. I sent them off to
Len. I told him, at the right time you will have the music for this one.
Several weeks went by and in my inbox was this email.
Hi June,
I
finally got back into the “Studio” and finished this song. Thanks
for sending over. It was very healing to work through this. I left
the chorus for you to add vocals. Let me know what you think. As I
was pondering this song, it also reminds me of the Christmas story. I can
imagine Mary singing these same words to Jesus.
Len
I was amazed at Len’s imagining Mary singing this chorus to her son, Jesus as she acknowledged what the Savior of the world would face.
“I hear,
Son, I hold you in My hand, no
matter what you face
Son, I hold you to My heart, you
are anchored in My grace
Son, I hold you in My hand, no
matter where you roam
Son, I hold you to My heart, you
are anchored in Me alone”
I can imagine Mary, hearing the heart of Father God, singing these words over her son.
These words where Father God
singing over Len and these words are Father God singing over all of us.
Zephaniah 3:17
