Above All Names

Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Philippians 2:9-11 ESV

 I have a precious tribe of believers who share the same heart.  We are an Intercessory Worship Team called, Incense Rising.  Our little group plants the songs and decrees that the LORD gives us in places where we are led to deposit them.  We do lead worship for groups of people but our main purpose has been to voice God's hopes and dreams into the region and state we live, New York State. 

We have been writing songs together as a team for over a year.  Even those of our team who have never written songs are writing lyrics that become songs.  It is a unique blending of the gifts God has deposited and developed in each one of us.

"Above All Names" is a wonderful example of how God has been working in our lives.  Len Douglas, musician, songwriter and worship leader sent me a song chorus based on Philippians 2:9-11.  He sent over the a music file with his ideas.   I just didn't have anything at first listen or the next day.  I asked Holy Spirit, "what do you have in mind?"   It didn't come up with anything at first so I just starting worshiping with the chorus Len sent me.  I often write verses, a prophetic narrative around the choruses my team sends me but I heard the Holy Spirit instruct me not to write but simply worship with this one.  So I engaged my recording device and the song emerged.   After adding some other vocals I sent it back to Len and told him how he had rode the wind of the Holy Spirit and caught the song that was in the breeze.  That breeze blew upon the worship of my heart at the piano that morning.  Such a precious gift from heaven's realm.  

Len sent me sent me this response:

This is great!  So anointed and holy.  I love the vocal echoes.  I only had a piece of this.  You “entered a portal” and heard the rest.  The book I’m reading describes “The Portals of Jesus Name”  Power Portals by Joshua Mills.

“For believers, every single one of Jesus’s names becomes a portal that we are invited to explore.  This means that we have been given access to about two hundred power portals through the names of Jesus alone!  Take some time to do your own research in the Bible about the various names for Jesus.  Each one is a power portal of access to another realm of glory.”

 Yes, worshiping Jesus, raising His name above all names is entering into a place with Jesus that touches His glory.  Dwelling in His names does bring us from glory to glory.   As a songwriter, every song opens a new facet of relationship with Him.  It is one of the greatest joys of my life to receive what Holy Spirit sends. It is such a gift to work as a tribe and be caught up in the creative heart of God together.   It is a blessing to experience how God uses each one of us.

Len's wife, Gail added a decree and our other team member, Marcia added her flag/banner worship. I share our journey to encourage others in the body of Christ to create together and allow God to combine the anointing He has poured into His sons and daughters.  It becomes so much more when we work together than it is when we create alone.   The blending of the various creative expressions God has given us is a beautiful expression of His body worshiping in spirit and in truth.
